Tips and Tricks for Making Sure You NEVER Run Out of Lash Supplies!

Being a busy entrepreneur, it can be very easy to lose track of what you're doing and forget to place your order in time and, let’s be honest, relying on next day delivery can be risky! So what measures can you put in place to make sure you never experience the sweat-inducing panic that comes with realising you’re all out of something you need for the client laying in front of you?

What can you stock up on ahead of time?

Look at things with either no expiry date, or a super long expiry - eyelash extensions is the obvious one here as they’ll sit and look pretty until you’re ready for them, but also look at things like eyepatches and tape. While eyepatches do have a use by date, it’s typically a really long date so you’re safe to stock up on those!

You can also stock up on liquids (pretreatment or lash extensions removers) with a longer date, though be careful with this as having too many will mean that it’s very easy to lose track of what was bought when, and what needs to be used next. Just to be on the safe side, only have what you need for a MAXIMUM of 3 months, and when you open something, put a piece of tape on it with the date that you opened it on!

What CAN’T You Stock Up On?

Glue. That’s pretty much it - glue should ALWAYS be bought fresh. Just as a reminder - glue has a 6 month shelf life from the Date of Production (DOP) - this is printed on the bottom of the bottle and on the aluminium pouch that your glue comes in. Once you’ve opened your glue, replace it in 4-8 weeks for best results!

Okay, fine, you can keep 2 months’ worth of glue on standby, but it’s honestly better not to! If you have trouble remembering to place your order in time or you just want to not have to think about it, look into our glue subscription service so that your glue just arrives in perfect time!

Our top tips for lash ordering - whether you stock up ahead of time or order as and when you need to - are:

  1. Set aside time in your booking system to place your orders. Don't get distracted by a client and forget to check out!
  2. Don't try to place your orders in between clients - you'll inevitably forget something and either run out, or have to place a second order which will cost you an additional shipping fee (unless you forgot £75 worth of items, in which case this post is definitely the one you needed to read!)
  3. Keep a list of items you order frequently and tick things off as you add them.

Lastly, while you’re stocking up, I highly recommend grabbing a spare set of tweezers, just in case!
