Stock Up on Black Friday, But Don’t OVER Stock…

It’s Black Friday, which means huge discounts on eyelash extensions supplies - this is your business so it makes sense to get LOADS of what you always use, right? Well, sort of.

The truth of it is that every liquid product - be it lash glue, glue remover, cleanser, primer, Booster or Superbonder - has a use by date, after which time the product simply won’t be able to perform how you’d expect it to. This can be in the form of Booster not effectively opening the hair cuticles in the way that it’s supposed to, it could be that your remover congeals and becomes impossible to work with, or it could be truly disastrous in the event that your lash glue dries inside the bottle.

To help you out, we thought it would be a good time to give you some guidance on how much use you’ll get out of each product, and how many it’s safe to buy if you want to be able to use them fully, whilst getting the best out of them.

Eyelash Extension Glue

This is the big one - it’s heavily discounted for Black Friday (and yes, it’s FRESH) so we often see lash techs buying 10 bottles at a time. In those cases we usually reach out to them and make sure they’re able to use all of those bottles within a 6 month time-frame, because it’s inevitable that come May of the following year, we get messages from lash techs saying that the glue they bought during the Black Friday sales doesn't work. This is because it simply doesn’t last longer than its shelf life.

You’ll know better than anyone how much eyelash extension glue you can safely get through in 6 months - and honestly, I’d recommend buying as much as you can use within 4 months, just to be on the safe side.

Shelf life unopened: 6 months

Shelf life from opening: 2 months (for the best retention, we recommend that you change your bottle every 4-6 weeks if you're opening your glue all day every day!)

Foaming Lash Cleanser

These have a pretty long shelf life and are available as individual units, or in packs of 9. The great thing about these is that you can use them in your pretreatment routine or you can retail them to your clients.

Shelf life unopened: 24 Months

Shelf life from opening: 12 Months

Pretreatment for eyelash extensions

We all need pretreatment - it’s fundamental to ensuring great retention, but how long can it be truly effective?
