How can you support an employee who
doesn’t speak English?
One super simple way is to use the Google translate app for easy communication - you can even use the built in audio feature there, so no need to type the text.
Prepare a book with photos of looks the clients can choose from. To reduce costs, this can even be digital - make sure your website and social media galleries are up to date.
Book extra time for treatment and, if possible, help your employee with the consultation process.
Book extra time in between treatments and, if possible, speak to the customer and employee about the quality of the treatment.
Be patient and kind, this is a very stressful experience for Ukrainian therapists. They not only just needed to leave their homes and businesses, but they also needed to adapt to the new country and new language.
