Simple tips every lash tech should follow (yes, even on busy days)
Let’s be real—when you're lashing back-to-back clients and chasing good retention, cleaning your tools might feel like an afterthought. But if you want to keep your clients safe, your results flawless, and your tools lasting longer, a proper lash tool cleaning routine is non-negotiable.
Not sure if you're doing it right? Or maybe you’re just looking for ways to make it quicker and more effective? Either way—this guide is for you.
Lash glue, client oils, makeup residue… it all builds up quickly. And if it’s not properly removed, it can lead to:
Poor lash retention (yes, product buildup can affect your bond)
Cross-contamination between clients
Irritations or infections
Rusty or dull tweezers (ouch—literally and financially)
In short: dirty tools = big problems. Clean tools = happy clients, better reviews, and longer-lasting sets.
There’s nothing more annoying than dried glue on your tweezers. Don’t pick or scrape—it can damage your tool tips.
Instead, soak them in a professional glue remover.
We love the London Lash Glue Remover for Tweezers — Best glue remover for lash tools, it breaks down stubborn adhesive without damaging your tweezers or making them slippery.
Let them sit for 5–10 minutes, then gently wipe with a lint-free wipe or microbrush.
After removing the glue:
Wash your tweezers, scissors, lash palette—basically, anything reusable—with warm water and antibacterial soap.
Use a soft brush to get into the nooks and crannies.
Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a lint-free tissue or clean paper towel.
Bonus tip: Try using London Lash Biodegradable Lint-Free Wipes to avoid leaving behind any fuzz!
Clean ≠ disinfected. You’ve got to do both.
Soak your tools in a salon-approved disinfectant (like Barbicide) for at least 10 minutes.
Dry completely.
Store them in a sterile container or tweezer case until your next set.
Pro tip: London Lash Tweezer Cases are great for keeping your tools protected and sanitary between clients.
Tools aren't the only things that need love:
Wipe down your lash tile, mirror, lash pillow, and bed after every client
Disinfect your glue ring or palette between uses
Swap linens or disposable sheets after each treatment
Keeping your space clean shows your clients you care—and trust us, they notice.
Extend the life of your expensive tools
Prevent poor retention from dirty tweezers
Build trust with clients who value cleanliness (especially post-COVID!)
We know you’ve got a lot on your plate—patch tests, client messages, sticky lashes, TikToks... but don’t let cleaning slide. Your reputation, retention, and revenue depend on it.
Using the right products (like London Lash’s Glue Remover, Lint-Free Wipes, and Tweezer Cases) makes it quicker, easier, and way less stressful.
Because at the end of the day, clean tools = clean work = returning clients.
