Whether Big and Bold or Light and Wispy, Here’s What You Need to Master Any Hybrid Eyelash Look!

    What Exactly Are Hybrid Lashes?

In a nutshell, hybrid lashes combine classic lashes with volume lashes. Typically, a hybrid lash set is thought of as a 50/50 mix of classic lash extensions and volume fans, but there are endless ways to customise them based on your client’s desired look and their natural lash condition. If you’re curious about the ins and outs of hybrid lashes before diving into which products to stock up on, check out these blog posts first:

    - Everything You Need to Know About Hybrid Lashes

    - When Should You Offer Hybrid Lash Extensions

    Lash Types You’ll Need

Applying hybrid lashes can be as simple or as intricate as you want. We’re here to break it down without overwhelming you. Start with the basics: go for 0.15 classic lashes and 0.07 volume lashes to create fans up to 5D. If you're aiming for a lighter look, use 0.10 lashes for both your classic lashes and 2D fans. For a bolder effect, try 0.05 lashes in fans up to 9D, paired with 0.20 flat lashes.

DID YOU KNOW?  Flat lashes are made by fusing two finer lashes, giving them the appearance of a thicker classic lash but with half the weight. This allows you to create striking lash looks without risking the health of your clients' lashes!

    Choosing the Right Glue

If you’ve already found a lash extension glue that you love, stick with it for your hybrid lashes. Just keep in mind that if you're new to volume lashes, applying them can take a bit longer than classic lashes. If you’re still mastering volume lashes, consider using a slower-curing adhesive for the volume fans or tweaking your humidity settings—raise it while applying classic lashes and lower it when working with volume fans.

TOP TIP: When applying a hybrid set, start with your classic lashes. Then, use a piece of tape to hold them back while you apply the volume fans. This helps you achieve full coverage and prevents your extensions from sticking together.

    Which Tweezers to Use

If you’re working on hybrid lashes, you probably already have tweezers you prefer for classic and volume lashes. If not, you can explore our classic lash tweezers here and volume lash tweezers here. For a versatile option, consider investing in multifunctional tweezers. They’re great for both classic lashes and quick 2D fans, and they’re ideal for working with easy fan lashes, pre-made fans, or even very short lashes due to their fine tips.

    Don’t Forget the Essentials

Lash prep products like lash cleanser and primer are key for making your sets last longer, and they show your clients that you care about their overall experience and lash health. Check out this blog post to find the best lash prep routine for you.

Always keep some lash remover on hand—cream remover is best for taking off full sets, while gel remover is perfect for spot removal during fills.

No lash extension kit is complete without tape and under-eye patches to protect the lower lashes during application.

If you’d rather skip the guesswork and prefer a pre-curated selection, we offer a kit tailored for hybrid lashes. It includes a variety of lashes and products for both classic and volume sets, making it perfect for getting started with hybrid lashes!
